A country in West Africa that is surrounded by Senegal and the Atlantic Ocean. It is the smallest country within mainland Africa. In 1765, The Gambia was made a part of the British Empire and is now a member of the Commonwealth.
The country's namesake is the Gambia River. During elections, Gambians vote in a private booth using marbles. The most popular drink is Bissap, a sweet herbal tea made from hibiscus flowers.
