A landlocked country in northeastern Africa. It is bordered by Ethiopia, Sudan, the Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda, and Kenya. In 2011, it gained independence from Sudan.
Its Boma National Park is one of Africa’s largest reserves. It is home to the Sudd, Africa’s largest wetland. The longest river in the world, The Nile, runs through the country.
