The island of Guam is an unincorporated territory of the United States. The island itself is located in the Western Pacific Ocean. The island's largest city is Dededo. Guam's unofficial national animal is the Carabaos. The most used language on the island is Chamorro.
Japan captured and occupied Guam for two years beginning in 1941. The island's location near the International Date Line led to the phrase, "Where America's Day Begins." Guam has a tropical rainforest climate.
