Award that is given out at the end of each MLB season to each of the top fielders at his position within each league. Nine players from each of the MLB's two leagues, the American League and the National League, have traditionally received the honor each year. However, in 2022, the league introduced a tenth Gold Glove for each league, given to a standout utility player.
Starting pitcher Greg Maddux set a record by winning 18 Gold Gloves over his career. Meanwhile, third baseman Brooks Robinson set the record for most Gold Gloves for a position player with 16.
